Dr. D. R. (Hutch) Hutchcraft

 

Professor Dale “Hutch” Hutchcraft earned a PhD in organizational leadership and management from Regent University. In 2004 he earned a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in organizational leadership and management from Regent University.  In 2002 he completed a Master’s of Arts in church leadership from Crown College. In the late 1970’s he studied theology at Dallas and Bethel Seminaries. In 1976 Professor Hutchcraft graduated from Northwestern College with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in pastoral ministry.

Prof. Hutchcraft has lectured extensively on topics of leadership and learner autonomy in many different venues. His academic publications and presentations include: Self Efficacious Autonomous Learning and Leadership Development: The Use of Similar Terms for Similar Behaviors in Leadership Discussions. Professor Hutchcraft has served in various pastorates in churches throughout the Midwest for 31 years. He has served churches in the Christian and Missionary Alliance, Conservative Baptist, and Conservative Congregational Christian Conference.  He has twice served as an area representative for the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference. He has been an adjunct professor at Northwestern College since the fall of 2004, teaching primarily in the Bible and Theology department in the day school. He also teaches Foundations of Speech and Communication in the Communications department, Human Resources Management for the Master’s of Organizational Leadership program, and has taught courses in Organizational Administration for Focus program.

 

Professor Hutchcraft has had multiple experiences outside the pastoral ministry. He and his wife of 38 years Cathy, have operated their own businesses. Professor Hutchcraft has served as Chaplain for the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Department, worked in the public school systems as a substitute teacher, soccer coach, basketball coach, and baseball coach, as well as being involved in community organizations and events.

Professor Hutchcraft’s hobbies include hunting, fishing, playing softball, and flying, traveling, studying history, and playing with his eight grandchildren.
