In 2014 the leadership of Buffalo Bible Institute began to ask the following question, " What are the educational needs of the Christian community and how might those needs be met with a quality learning experience in a cost effective way?" In doing the research to discover the answer to that question more questions were raised. The major concern that came out of this was that high school students not being adequately prepared as a Christian to meet the various challenges that face them in entering the work force, attending a vocational school or going to a Christian or secular university.
This concern was articulated by pastors and parents alike that the young adults setting sail in life’s turbulent waters were not adequately prepared in three areas. The first area is an adequate biblical foundation in understanding who God is and their identity in Jesus Christ. Establishing this would not only aide them in surviving the onslaught of anti-biblical prejudice that is prevalent in many secular schools and give them the evidence to be able to defend their faith. The second area involve the making of wise choices concerning education as it relates to their gifts and their talents and the purpose that God might have for their lives. The third area of concern was that an adequate understanding about the world of work, business and handling personal finances.
These discussions seemed to have been common seven expectations.
Metamorphosis is the word we use to describe the process in which something matures into what it was originally meant to be. To venture means essentially to go on a journey that involves risk and sacrifice but has the potential of reward. The Metamorphosis Venture is a three-year integrated semi-customized learning experience that mentors young men and women; starting with high school sophomores, continuing with college students and graduates and all other interested students of the Bible, to prepare them to live biblically as adults at school, in the workplace, the community, and the world.
During the three years with the coaching of experienced spiritual leaders the young adults will establish their biblical foundation through integrated Bible study, practical learning experiences, participation in cross-cultural ministry, and hopefully, a trip to Israel.
These students will gain a sense of what God may have in store for them as they serve him with their lives. With the assistance of their mentors they will develop a plan of transition that will take them through the next phase of their lives whether that would be moving into the workforce, starting a business, going to a vocational school, or attending Christian or secular university.
The first Metamorphosis Venture is scheduled to start the fall of 2016. If you are interested in receiving information, please contact Dr. Dale Hutchcraft at 763-443-4543 or email Dr. Hutchcraft at firstname.lastname@example.org
